Beth & Kieran’s Wedding at The Woodman Inn, Huddersfield | Relaxed Yorkshire Wedding Photography & Hybrid Film
The Woodman Inn, Huddersfield – a wedding full of atmosphere.
Some wedding days just have that feeling from the very beginning, and Beth & Kieran’s wedding at The Woodman Inn in Huddersfield was one of those days.
Full of laughter, the biggest smiles, an incredible atmosphere and a whole LOT of dancing, this was a wedding that was all about soaking up every single second.
From the moment the celebrations began, these two were smiling from ear to ear. The energy was infectious, the people were incredible, and it was so lovely to capture a day where everyone was completely caught up in the moment.
As a Yorkshire wedding photographer, these are the days I love most. The ones where you can simply be yourselves, forget the camera is there and enjoy every little moment as it unfolds. No awkward posing, no endless lists of photographs to work through, just natural, relaxed documentary wedding photography that tells the story of your day exactly as it felt.
And Beth & Kieran’s story? It was a pretty special one to capture.
Let’s talk about Beth’s dress, because it was an absolute dream!
Her gown from Dotty Bridal was beautifully designed to transform throughout the day, with three different looks in one. A figure-hugging dress and bodice formed the base, with a detachable full skirt for that extra wow factor, alongside a gorgeous long-sleeved lace bolero jacket.
I love details like this. Not only do they make for some beautiful photographs, but they also give you the freedom to change up your look as the day progresses, without losing the feel of your original bridal style.
From those quieter moments getting ready to the celebrations later on, Beth looked incredible.
Hair and makeup were taken care of by the lovely Bow & Blush, completing the look perfectly.
FILM
bringing the day back to life …
Beth & Kieran also chose to add my hybrid wedding film to their photography package, which is something I’m incredibly passionate about.
The soundtrack on this is pretty special too – a recording of the song Link Lewis performed whilst they signed their register.

One photographer, two ways to remember your wedding day – hybrid photo & film.
So, what exactly is hybrid photo and film?
It’s a way of capturing both photography and little snippets of film throughout your wedding day, all by one person – me!
Alongside creating your photographs, I capture short video clips of the moments unfolding around me. These little clips are then carefully woven together to create a beautiful highlight film that tells the story of your day in a completely different way.
It’s not about having a separate videography team following you around all day, and it’s not a traditional full-length wedding video. Instead, it’s a natural, unobtrusive way of bringing your memories to life through a combination of still images and moving moments.
And honestly, I love that combination.
Your photographs capture those split-second moments you want to hold onto forever – a look between you, a huge laugh, the little details you might otherwise miss.
Your film brings another layer to those memories. The movement, the atmosphere, the way the day flowed from one moment to the next, the music and the feeling of being right back there again.
A photograph might capture the moment you step onto the dance floor, while a film clip can bring that moment to life through movement.
Together, they tell a much fuller story.
The best part is that you don’t need to organise two separate suppliers or have another team of cameras around you. I’m already there capturing your day naturally, so the film becomes an extension of the same relaxed, documentary approach I take with my photography.
It’s perfect for couples who love natural photographs but would also love a little film to look back on – without wanting a big production or a full videography team.

Looking for a relaxed Yorkshire wedding photographer?
If there was one thing that summed up Beth & Kieran’s wedding, it was the sheer joy of it all.
These two soaked up every single second, surrounded by their favourite people, with smiles that barely left their faces. From the beautiful ceremony and those quieter moments together to the music, saxophone and packed dance floor, the whole day felt like one big celebration.
And that’s exactly what weddings should be about.
Not worrying about whether you’ve had enough photographs taken.
Not feeling like you need to perform for the camera.
Not spending hours away from your guests.
Just being present, enjoying the people around you and making memories together.
My job is to quietly capture all of that as it happens, creating a collection of relaxed, natural wedding photographs and a film that lets you relive the atmosphere for years to come.
Beth & Kieran, thank you for having me along to capture such an incredible day.
It was an absolute pleasure, and what a party!
If you’re planning your wedding in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire or anywhere across Yorkshire and love the idea of natural, documentary-style wedding photography, I’d love to hear from you.
My approach is all about capturing your wedding as it really happens – the big moments, the little in-between moments, the laughter, the happy tears and all the wonderful, wonderfully imperfect bits that make your day yours.
And if you’d love to bring those memories to life through film as well as photographs, my hybrid photo & film option gives you the best of both worlds, captured by one person with one relaxed, unobtrusive approach.
